Obituary for Capehart

Dorothy B. Capehart, 93, a resident of Albuquerque since 1983, died Monday, March 22, 1999. She is survived by her son, Rev. Marvin L. Capehart and wife, Jan of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Steve Benjamin of St. Louis, MO, Melanie Erickson of San Francisco, CA, Cindy Ellingson of Edmond, OK, Colleen Kulback of La Luz, Melvin Roy Capehart Jr., Evan Vandekamp of Arlington, TX and Kathy Tooley of St. Charles, MO; nine great-grandchildren; sister, Marie Linderman Kaverman of Cocoa, FL; brother, William Ronan Jr. of St. Louis, MO; and numerous nieces and nephews. Mrs. Capehart was preceded in death by her husband, Leslie C. Capehart; and her son, Melvin Capehart. She was a member of Alameda First Baptist Church and attended Northdale Baptist Church with her family. Mrs. Capehart loved going to church. She and her husband, Leslie worked over 50 years in churches in St. Louis, MO and Winter Park, FL, working with youth. She loved to sing and was a member of Handel's Messiah Choir in St. Louis, MO and Winter Park, FL. Services will be held Thursday, 2:00 p.m., at Northdale Baptist Church, 123 Osuna Rd. NW, with Pastor Ron Mansdoerfer Jr., Pastor G.R. Patrick and Dr. Jim Wilson officiating. Interment will follow at Sandia Memory Gardens. Pallbearers will be T.J. Robertson, Leo Smyth, Jim Gary, Conrad Shields, James Weaver and Joe Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be Deacons of Northdale Baptist Church and Alameda First Baptist Church.
