Ray C. Gariss, 67, a resident of Albuquerque for 42 years, died Saturday, April 17, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Vinita Gariss of the family home; daughters, Anita Gariss and Tom DeRochie of Albuquerque and Bonita Price and husband, Dan of El Paso, TX; sons, Gene Gariss and wife, Toni, R.C. Gariss and Scott Gariss and wife, Anne, all of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Smoky Gariss, Jennifer Gariss of Albuquerque, Monty and wife, Bobby Gariss, Shannon Gariss, Shawn Gariss of Belen, Heather Price and Zach Price of El Paso, TX; six great-grandchildren; sisters, Imojean Davis and Isabelle Sherron, both of Missouri; brother, Robert Gariss and wife, Fontella of Missouri. Ray loved his family. Graveside services will take place Wednesday, 11:00 a.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE, with Pastor Lemuel Boyles officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Tuesday, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Lung Association of New Mexico, 216 Truman NE 87108.
