George Orona Sr., 75, was called home to the Lord on April 15, 1999. Beloved husband of Tocha Gutierrez de Orona; father of sons, Joe Luke and wife, Connie, George Jr. and wife, Sharon; daughter, Carmen Valencia; grandfather of grandsons, Brian Orona and wife, Georgianna, Jody Valencia, Jaime Orona, Billy Orona; and step-grandson, Daniel Vivian; granddaughters, Lisa Lesku and husband, Frank, Jolene Valencia; and great-granddaughters, Olivia Orona and Ashley Lesku; brother to Jack Orona and sisters, Candelaria Gutierrez, Mayme Pineda, and Sylvia Flores. He served his community as past president of the Eagles, active member of the Moose Lodge #1517, and an employee of Lembke Construction for 40 years. Visitation will be held Sunday, 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., followed by the Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m., in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne, 1100 Coal SE. Mass will be held Monday, time and place to be announced. Pallbearers will be Brian Orona, Jody Valencia, Jaime Orona, Billy Orona, Frank Lesku, Gilbert Flores, Daniel Vivian, Louie Gutierrez and Steven Widener.
