Henry Avalos, 57, passed away Wednesday, April 14, 1999 in Socorro. He was born September 17, 1941 to Vicente and Dominica Rivera Avalos in Magdalena, NM. He was preceded in death by his mother; and a grandchild, Natasha Avalos. He is survived by his wife, Mary Valenzuela Avalos of their home in Socorro; his father, Vicente Avalos of Socorro; children, Gilbert Avalos, David Avalos, Paul Avalos, Karen Avalos and Michelle Avalos, all of Socorro, and Bridgette Marble of Kingman, AZ; brothers, Pete and Jose Avalos, both of Albuquerque; sisters, Lucy Mendoza of Los Lunas and Rosemary Anzures of Albuquerque; eight grandchildren and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, April 17, from 9:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Steadman-Hall Funeral Home. Rosary will be recited Sunday, April 18, 7:00 p.m., at the San Miguel Catholic Church in Socorro. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Monday, April 19, 10:00 a.m., at San Miguel with Father Bill Sanchez as Celebrant. Interment is in the San Miguel Cemetery. Pallbearers are Julian Avalos, Jose Avalos, Joseph Scates, Phillip Scates, Lorenzo Valenzuela Jr., and Ramon Marentes. Honorary pallbearers are Reyes Valenzuela Jr., Frank Marble, Tony Valenzuela, Vernon Lane, Tommy Scates and Benny Arana. Arrangements by Steadman-Hall Funeral Home, Socorro, New Mexico.
