Obituary for Szilvassy

Dr. Rudolph E. Szilvassy, D.V.M., passed away peacefully in Albuquerque during the early morning hours of Tuesday, April 13, 1999. He was born on June 16, 1916 in Hungary. Dr. Szilvassy left Hungary at the time of the Communist takeover and emigrated to the United States. Trained as a physician in Hungary, Dr. Szilvassy became a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine in the United States and worked for the United States Department of Agriculture. He operated a private practice-the Alameda Animal Hospital on North Second Street in Albuquerque for many years; he also maintained a private veterinary practice in Truth or Consequences, NM, where he retired. He was a member of the United States Archery Team and former United States Champion. Private interment will take place at Vista Memory Gardens Cemetery in Truth or Consequences, NM. Dr. Szilvassy received excellent and compassionate care during the last years of his life at Coddington Residential Care, 3212 Wellesley Court NE, Albuquerque. A memorial gathering in Truth or Consequences will be announced later.
