Obituary for Smid

Clarence Vernon Smid was born September 8, 1921 in Chicago Illinois. He passed away after a long illness Friday, April 9. He came to Albuquerque in 1946 where he attended the University of New Mexico. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 52 years, Frances; three sons, James and wife, Odelia, Ronald and Randy; one granddaughter, Nicole and one sister, Beatrice Padour of Chicago, IL. He was preceded in death by one son, Vernon; and brother, George Smid. Clarence was proud to have served his country through two wars. He was retired from the U.S. Post Office and the U.S. Army Reserves. Cremation has taken place. In keeping with Clarence's wishes, private family services will be held.
