Obituary for Vickers

Phyllis M. Vickers, age 80, a resident of Albuquerque for 55 years, died April 5, 1999. She is survived by her sons, John Vickers of Albuquerque, Jim Vickers and wife, Jude of Albuquerque, Dave Vickers and wife, Jennifer of Los Lunas; ten grandchildren; one great-grandchild. She was an Anthropology and Archeology teacher with APS. Mrs. Vickers also helped with the first excavation at Chaco Canyon and she was the co-owner of Vickers Toy Chest. She was a member of St. John's Episcopal Cathedral. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 11, 1999, from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 1999 at 2:00 p.m. in St. John's Episcopal Cathedral Church, 318 Silver SW, with Canon Rhonda McIntire officiating. John E. Vickers, Robert Stubblefield, Dave Stevenson, Ian Vickers, Daniel Vickers and James W. Vickers will served as pallbearers. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
