Tressie Velasquez, age 89, born in Floyd, NM, moved to Albuquerque in 1945, a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Del Norte Ward, died Wednesday, April 7, 1999. She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul in 1969. She is survived by her son, Leon Burkholder; five grandchildren, Paula Rodriguez of Rhode Island, Jeanie Smith, Lori Sloane, Bobby Burkholder, all of Albuquerque; and ten great-grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by her son, grandkids and great-grandkids, and all her friends in the Mormon Church. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., Friday, and services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE. Interment will follow in Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery with Bobby Burkholder, Billy Burkholder, Gary Smith, Gary Smith II, Dennis Smith, Douglas W. Sloane. Honorary bearer is Ruben Lopez.
