Obituary for Salas

Richard Salas, 82, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandchildren, was called home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 6, 1999. He will be missed by his loving wife of 60 years, Lorencita, and their family of seven children, Helen and husband, John, Floyd and his wife, Mary, Gloria and her husband, Bill, Jim, Virginia, Rick, and Julie and her husband, Clif; thirteen grandchildren, John, Paul, Vicki, Vanessa, Michelle, Nicki, Brian, Seth, Philip, Paul, Lorenzo, Cerro and Estrella; and seven great-grandchildren. He is also survived by his sisters, Sally and Belle; and sister-in-law, Isabel. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Lazaro and Trini; and sister, Gregoria. Richard was bon in San Juan, NM, to Tranquilino and Cornelia Salas on April 3, 1917. He was a lifelong resident of New Mexico. Richard was a long time member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of Our Lady of Annunciation Catholic Church in Albuquerque for 40 years. After dedicated over 50 years to his profession of barbering, he enjoyed many happy years in retirement with his wife, friends, and family. Richard will be missed and always will be remembered by everyone who knew him. Rosary will be recited Sunday, May 9, 1999, 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel, 10500 Lomas NE, with Marianites of Our Lady of Annunciation reciting. Mass will be celebrated Monday, May 10, 1999, 11:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Sorrows Catholic Church, La Joya, NM with Father Vincent A. Nicosia celebrant. Interment will follow at La Joya Cemetery. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas NE, Sunday, from 6:00 p.m. to the time of Rosary.
