Obituary for Calverley

John H. Calverley, 87, a resident of Albuquerque since 1942, died Wednesday, May 5, 1999. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Hazel Maynard Calverley of Albuquerque; grandsons, Thomas Kirvin and Sean Kirvin, both of Hot Springs, AR; and two great-grandchildren. Mr. Calverley was preceded in death by his daughter, Kyle Kirvin. He served as a Tech. Sgt. during WWII with an anti aircraft division in North Africa, Sardinia, Sicily and Italy. He retired as Vice President of Rainbow Baking Co. of Albuquerque in 1976, completing a 41 year career with the Campbell Taggart Associated Bakeries of Dallas. After retiring, Mr. Calverley spent many contented years with his wife in their homes in Ute Lake, Silver City, Hot Springs, AR, Ruidoso and finally back in Albuquerque. Graveside services will be held Monday, 2:00 p.m., at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Father Michael McHugh officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Monday, 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m.
