Obituary for Spurgeon

Lee Spurgeon passed away Tuesday, May 4, 1999 at the age of 86, after a very long illness. He was preceded in death by his wife, Muriel. Mr. Spurgeon is survived by three daughters, Norma Howard and husband, Glen, Judy Reich and Jane Seitz, all of Albuquerque; one son, Melvin Seitz and wife, Ann of Oquawka, IL; five grandchildren, Karen Kuebler, Annette Hartline, Robert Howard, Christine Card and Linda Wegmiller; and six great-grandchildren. Lee was a resident of Albuquerque for 53 years. He owned several businesses here in Albuquerque, Central Roofing Company, Spurgeon Construction and Remodeling, and Custom Made Camper Shells. He spent a lot of his life hunting and fishing. Mr. Spurgeon will be greatly missed by his longtime hunting buddy, Kurt Darner of Melrose, CO and also his longtime friend, Tim Hill. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Saturday, 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. Private family interment will take place at a later date.
