Obituary for Pappas

Annie Virginia Hicks Pappas, age 84, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away in her sleep on the morning of January 5, 1999. She was born May 10, 1914 in WayCrose, GA, the daughter of the late Benny and Annie Hicks. She grew up in WayCrose, GA and went to Henry Grady Nursing College in Atlanta, GA to become a Registered Nurse. She came to Albuquerque in 1945. She retired from the Department of the Air Force Civil Service as a Registered Nurse on October 10, 1974. She was the widow of Peter J. Pappas who passed away in 1978 following a long illness. She is survived by her two sons, James C. Pappas and Peter J. Pappas; three grandsons, Anthony J. Pappas, Nickolas C. Pappas and Alexander D. Pappas. She was a long-standing member of St. Mark's on the Mesa Church. Visitation will be held from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 7, 1999 at Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 8, 1999 at 11:00 a.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary with the Reverend Chuck Collins officiating.
