Earl "Bud" Haworth, 58, went to be with his Lord Friday night, September 5, 2003 at Kalispell Regional Medical Center in Kalispell. He died from complications following a stroke. Bud was born November 20, 1944 in Shelby, MT, the youngest of three children from Eliel "Lyle" and Ardis "Tiny" Haworth. He lettered in football and basketball under Jess LaBuff at Shelby High School and following graduation, entered the U.S.Navy, serving primarily in the Philippines as a clerk in Legal Affairs. After his discharge, he worked in Seattle, Washington for a time. During the 1980's, he lived in Belen where he helped establish a branch of the firm "Haworth & Stutts Realty" and worked there for several years. In 1989, he returned to Montana with his mate, Vicki Lee, and resided in Whitefish, then in Kalispell where he was a self-employed realtor specializing in farms and ranches with his agency "Rawhide Realty". Bud's primary interest and great pleasure was his two sons, Shawn, 28 and Justin, 26. He enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a breeder and owner of Quarter Horse race horses while in New Mexico. Bud also pursued a personal and faithful study of the Bible. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tiny in 1990, and Lyle in 1999. Bud is survived by Vicki Lee at their home in Kalispell; his sons, Shawn and Justin, from a previous marriage, who live in Houston, TX; a sister, Marty Keller and her husband Bud in Shelby; a brother, Jim Haworth and his wife Jamie in Albuquerque, NM; nephews Brett, Shannon, Cody, and Brian Haworth in Albuquerque, Travis Haworth in Shelby, MT, and Steve Samuelson and his wife Jill in California; and by nieces Lindsey Haworth in Albuquerque, and Lyla Lingle in Helena, MT. His many other relatives and friends are too numerous to list, but were cherished dearly during Bud's life. A memorial service was held with a multitude of family and friends at Lake McDonald to celebrate Bud's life with prayer and remembrance, and was officiated by Pastor John Swanson, a family friend, from Helena. Cremation followed at Johnson Mortuary & Crematory. The family suggests donations be sent to the St. Joseph's Healthcare Foundation Cancer Alliance-New Mexico, P.O. Box 26926, Albuquerque, NM 87125.
