Obituary for Larson

Howard E. Larson, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, died on Thursday, October 19, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Mildred B. Larson; son, Peter B. Larson and wife, Rita of Grand Junction, CO; daughters, Ginger Griffith and husband, Larry of Minneapolis, MN and Ruth Ellen Mendoza and husband, Michael of Ben Salem, PA; four grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother, Calvin Larson and wife, Betty of Charles City, IA and sister, Stella Larson of Charles City, IA. Howard was preceded in death by his two brothers, John and Justin Larson. He was a graduate from Iowa State University, where he was a member of Delta Sigma Phi Fraternity. Mr. Larson was also a member of the Presbyterian Church where he previously served as an Elder. Past president of both the Mile High Optimist Club and the Albuquerque Senior Mens Golf Association. Howard worked for Phillips Petroleum for 38 years, retiring in 1976. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2000, 11:00a.m. at Sandia Presbyterian Church, 10704 Paseo Del Norte NE. with Rev. Dewey Johnson, officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be the members of Mile High Optimist Club and the Albuquerque Senior Mens Golf Association.
