Obituary for Godfrey

1917-2000 Hallie C. Godfrey, 83, a resident of Belen, passed away on Wednesday, October 18, 2000. He was born in 1917 in Clayton, NM. He married Theo Marie Riley in 1951. Hal worked as an engineer for the Santa Fe Railroad until his retirement in 1980. He was also a veteran, having served in the Army Air Force. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alma Godfrey in 1939, Charlie Godfrey in 1986; and his sister, Juanita Haskins in 1969. He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Theo Godfrey; his son, Reagan Godfrey and wife, Patricia of Belen; his daughter, Ann Minner and husband, Loren of Belen; five grandsons, Patrick Godfrey, Nathan Godfrey, Aaron Minner, Daniel Minner, and Mason Minner; and one great-grandson, Weston Godfrey. Visitation for Mr. Godfrey will be held on Saturday, October 21, 2000 at Riverside Funeral Home Chapel at 10:30 a.m. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Jackson Sellars officiating. Burial will follow at Terrace Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Doug Ridley, A.D. Correll, Rudy Pena, Ray Augo, Leroy Burson, and Bob Williams. Honorary Pallbearers will be Joe Ben Gardner, and Loren Minner. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Hal's memory to Quality Continuum Hospice, 8001 Mountain Rd.
