Mary Ellen Rich, age 84, passed away peacefully on July 10, 2000, at home surrounded by her loving family. Mary was born on March 23, 1916 in Santa Rosa and moved to Albuquerque where she married Angelo Rich Sr. and successfully raised six children. Mary enjoyed entertaining, cooking, gardening and telling the stories of her family and many friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Juanita Labadic in 1980; her son, Robert Rich in 1975; and her grandson, Johnny Rich Jr. in 1989. She will be remembered with love and admiration by her husband of 65 years, Angelo Rich Sr.; her daughter, Rose Marie Rich-Chavez; her five sons, Angelo Rich Jr., Johnny Rich, Michael Rich and wife, Barbara, Jack Rich and Judy Bentley; her 11 grandchildren, Debbie, Curtis, Randy, Paula, Michael, Caryn, Tina, Brian, Arlene, Marty, Laralea and their significant others; and her six great-grandchildren, Andrew, Andy, Alicia, Elle, Regan and Ryan; and other family members, Patsy Conroy, Conrad Chavez, Bonnie Tipton, Joan Carlson, Charmaine Davis, Sharon Heinsma, Eremita and Margaret Campos. Funeral services for Mrs. Rich will be held on Wednesday at Salazar & Sons Mortuary where service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brian Rich, Michael Rich, Randy Rich, Marty Chavez, Curtis Rich and Jeremiah. Honorary pallbearers will be David Wilson and Greg Luebke. Visitation for Mrs. Rich will be held on Tuesday, from 3:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., in the mortuary chapel. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday evening, 7:00 p.m., at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
