Jose Orlando Palacio, 79, a resident of the Albuquerque area since 1923, died Sunday, July 9, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Rita L. Palacio; one son, Charles Palacio and wife, Lillian, all of Bosque Farms; three daughters, Eileen Maestas and husband, Rudy M. of Albuquerque, Sylvia Palacio of Bosque Farms, and Audrey Palacio of Los Chaves; nephew, Steve Lopez who they raised as a son; 12 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Ernesto Palacio and sister, EulalaTreijo. Mr. Palacio was a life member of the D.A.V., the American Legion, and the V.F.W. Rosary will be recited Tueday, 7:00 p.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 1818 Coal Pl. SE. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, with Father Flavio Santillanes, Celebrant. Interment will take place at 12:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Lawrence Maestas, Chris Maestas, Edward Palacio, Jesse Palacio, Phillip Torres and Joel Torres. Honorary pallbearers will be Mathew Torres and Steven Lopez. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
