Obituary for Wilder

Charles W. Wilder, born June 14, 1935 in Pena Blanca, NM, passed away on February 22, 2000 at Lovelace Hospital following a long illness. He was preceded in death by Charles H. and Betty Wilder. He is survived by his wife, Maria (Mary) Wilder of the family home; five children, Charles Wilder Jr., Elizabeth Wilder, Robert Wilder, Kathleen Neeley and Brad Wilder. Also surviving are ten grandchildren and one great-grandchild; one brother, James Wilder; and three sisters, Ruth Brown, Ethel Farrington and Betty Grimaldi. Mr. Wilder was honorably discharged from the US Navy after serving in the Korean Conflict. He was retired from the UNM Printing Plant, he also had been an active member of the Knights of Columbus. He was a member of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, where he had been an usher for 40 years. He enjoyed acting, painting, bowling, camping, fishing and gardening. A final viewing will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:15 p.m. in the chapel of Alameda Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this afternoon, 1:30 p.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Pallbearers will be Artie Lucero, Lawrence Lucero, Donnie Chavez, Carlos Bruno, Steve Valdez and Steve Morgan. Honorary pallbearers will be Eddie Chavez, Junior Chavez, and Danny Padilla. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th Street, Norbert"Ray" Baldonado Jr., FSI.
