Fannie (Stefania) Mlekush-Armijo (Mann), 89, passed away Tuesday, February 22, 2000. She was born April 10, 1910 in Pluzna, Austria to Mathais Anton Mlekush and Elizabeth Roth-Mlekush. She loved her garden, especially her roses, iris and dahlias. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother. She was an inspiration to her family and friends. She never met a stranger. She is survived by her sons, Dewey Mann Jr. and wife, Charlotte, Philip A. Mann and wife, Joan, Eddie Mann and Leon P. Armijo, all of Albuquerque; daughter, Lorraine F. Armijo-Bratt and husband, David of Tulare, CA; sister, Alice Mlekush-Garnas of Canadian, TX; sisters-in-law, Mildred Mlekush of Pollock Pines, CA and Marcella Armijo-Bachicha of Albuquerque; brothers, Albert Mlekush of Modesto, CA, Anthony J. Mlekush and wife, Billie of Albuquerque, John A. Mlekush and wife, Lorene of Edgewood, and Joseph A. Mlekush and wife, Betty of Bullhead City, AZ; eight grandchildren, Debra E. Mann-Allen, Dewey S. Mann, Gregory A. Mann, Donna L. Mann-Sanchez, Diana E. Mann-Tafoya, D. Thomas Bratt and Nathan E. Bratt. She was preceded in death by husbands, Dewey Mann Sr. and Jose R. Armijo; brothers, Matt Mlekush and Frank Mlekush; sisters, Mary Mlekush-Lucero and Annie Mlekush-Boltz. Visitation will be held Thursday, February 24, 2000, from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Rosary will be recited following the visitation at 7:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, February 25, 2000, 11:00 a.m., at San Felipe Catholic Church with Rev. Msgr. Leo Lucero as Celebrant. Interment will follow at 2:30 p.m. in Santa Fe National Cemetery with Leon Armijo, Dewey Mann Jr., Philip A. Mann, Eddie Mann, David T. Bratt Sr. and Dewey S. Mann serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Boney Lopez and Tony Mlekush. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Alzheimer's Assoc. of NM Chapter, 1330 San Pedro NE 87110. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
