Obituary for Astorino

Thomas Blasius Astorino, 71, a resident of Sandia Park since 1981, died Friday, September 8, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 40 years, Janet Astorino; daughters, Lynette Adams of Cottonwood, AZ and Gina Glantz and husband, David T. of Danville, CA, Cheryl Briones and husband, Louie of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Steven, Katie, Janet, and Matthew; sisters, Mary Rose McCuin, Edith Rost, Genevieve Jones, and Florence Ruskey; brothers, Frank Audia, and John Astorino, Jr.; and many nephews and nieces. Mr. Astorino was born in Utah on February 4, 1929, and joined the United States Navy at the age of 14. He worked in mining for several years and raised his family in the San Francisco Bay area. He loved and enjoyed his grandchildren, working on home projects and swing dancing. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus, and a member of Holy Child Catholic Church. He was a beloved husband, father, and grandfather, and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Rosary will be recited at Holy Child Catholic Church on Monday, September 11, 2000, 7:00 p.m. with Deacon Jose Escandon officiating. Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, September 12, 2000, at Holy Child Catholic Church, with Father John Carney, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
