Obituary for Martinez

Gil Martinez Sr., beloved husband, father, brother, grandfather, and friend passed away after a short illness. He was preceded in death by his son, Gil Martinez, Jr. He is survived by his his wife of 64 years, Mary Jane Martinez; sons, Fred Martinez and his wife, Theresa, Frank Martinez and his wife, Arlene; daughter, Maria Martinez and friend Christine Carpenter all of Albuquerque; three brothers, Procopio Melardo and Pete Martinez and one sister, Lydia Romero; twelve grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren, all of Albuquerque. Gil Martinez, a retired railroad worker was born in San Marcial, NM on March 2, 1915. He will be greatly missed and loved, but leaves behind a beautiful legacy for all of us to follow. A Mass will be celebrated for Mr. Martinez, Tuesday, 9:00 a.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Cemetery. A Rosary will be recited Monday, 5:30 p.m. at the Holy Ghost Catholic Church. A visitation will take place Tuesday from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Salazar & Sons Mortuary, 400 Third St. SW.
