Adolfo G. "Nick/Tiger" Leal, 68, a resident of Albuquerque and a resident of New Mexico for 30 years, passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2000. Nick was born to Raymond and Mercedes Leal on September 10, 1931 in Los Angeles, California. He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Adolfo Jr. on July 19, 1991; a brother, Hank in 1976; his mother-in-law, Victoriana Velarde on February 1, 1991; a brother-in-law, Jerry Velarde on August 2, 1988; and numerous nephews and nieces, and other relatives. He is survived by his wife, Priscilla Leal of the family home; his children, Bernadette Jaramillo and husband, Herman, and their children, Adelaida and Sara; Mercedes Dominguez and husband, Gary; Victoriana Jaramillo and husband, Frank, and their daughter, Isabella; Patricia Leal; Rito Ybarra and his wife, Lisa, and their children, Vincent, Antoinette and Rito Jr.; Chris Ybarra, all of Albuquerque, and Adelaida Leal of Santa Monica, CA. He is also survived by a brother, Robert Leal and wife, Pat of Glendale, AZ; sisters, Dora Leal, and Cathy Garcia and husband, Albert of Santa Clara, CA, and Irene Lynch of San Jose, CA; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Chris Velarde of Velarde, Lenore and Alex Naranjo of La Mesilla, Theresa and Joe Almeida of Albuquerque, Shirley and Joe Martinez, Lula and George Valdez, and Jovita Velarde Casilla of Velarde; two uncles, Alex Guzman and Ruben Guzman, both of California; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and many other relatives and friends. Funeral services for Adolfo G. Leal are scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 8, 2000, at the Our Lady of Guadalupe Church in Velarde. Interment will follow at the Velarde Catholic Cemetery. Assisting the family as pallbearers will be Rito and Chris Ybarra, Robert Leal, Chris Velarde, Albert Garcia and Alex Naranjo. Honorary pallbearers are Gary Dominguez, Herman Jaramillo, Jerry Velarde, Lalo Baca, George Valdez Sr., Joe Martinez, Frank Jaramillo, Joe Almeida, Michelle Do, Alex Leal, Steve Leal and Germaine Almager, and other nephews and nieces.
