Obituary for Chavis

Stan Chavis, 58, died August 31, at home after fighting a long battle with alcoholism. He is survived by his wife, Roseanna Harrison; daughter, Stacey Chavis of Portland, OR; brother, Robert Chavis of Longbranch, NJ; cousins, Judy and Bill Hensley of Ada, OK; aunt, Mary Bavis of Ada, OK; several nieces and nephews; close friends, Bob Hoder and wife, Jackie, Roger Hendler, and Ross Miesem and wife, Mary. Stan graduated from Temple University with a Bachelors degree in Marketing in 1961 and he won an award in"Signs of the Time" magazine for his design of the Lieber's Luggage sign. He also designed the Reidling's Music Store sign, which was the shape of a grand piano. He enjoyed drawing cartoon caricatures. A Memorial service will be held at a later date.
