Obituary for Parker

Thomas V. Parker, age 74, born on July 27, 1925 in Minneapolis, MN to Lynus and Ethel Parker, died Sunday, April 9, 2000. He graduated from Dexter High School, N.M. in 1942, attended New Mexico State University, and graduated from Baylor University College of Dentistry in 1950. He served as 2nd Lt., U.S. Infantry in the Philippines from 1943 to 1946. Dr. Parker was President of the N.M. Dental Association in 1967-68, and also served as a member of the N.M. State Board of Dental Examiners from 1970-1975. He practiced dentistry in both Springer and Raton, NM for 40 years before retiring in 1988. During his retirement years, he worked part-time for a Santa Fe periodontist. Dr. Parker was past Master of the Springer Masonic Lodge No. 45 AF&AM, Member of the Scottish Rite in Santa Fe, Ballut Abaybd Shrine Temple Albuquerque Chapter #24 Royal Order of Jesters, BPOE Elks Club #865 of Raton, and Order of Eastern Stars in Springer, NM. Thomas is survived by his wife, Peggy (Goldie) of Los Lunas; brother, Jack Parker and wife, Ella of Albuquerque; daughters, Jeanne Bader and husband, Mark of Plano, TX, Donna Barnes and husband, Harley of Irving, TX, Karen Woosley and husband, Joe of Sparks, NV, and Rita Fuller and husband, Tom of Mountain Home, ID; three stepsons, Paul Mayer of Spearfish, SD, Steve Mayer of Panama City Beach, FL and Brad Mayer of Rio Rancho; 14 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held Wednesday, April 12, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel, 10500 Lomas Blvd., N.E.
