Obituary for Herrera

Ralph C. Herrera, age 80, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, died Thursday, April 6, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Ninfa Herrera of Albuquerque; daughter, Judy Tobias of Albuquerque; two sisters, Gloria Richards of Rio Rancho and Tessie Garcia of Santa Fe; brother, Tony Herrera of Santa Fe; three grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Mr. Herrera was a member of American Legion Post 13 and the V.F.W. He was a veteran of WWII and participated in the Invasion of the Beaches of Normandy on D-Day. Visitation will be held on Sunday, April 9, 2000, from 1:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., at Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, April 9, 2000 in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m., Monday, April 10, 2000, at Our Lady of Guadalupe, 1860 Griegos Rd. NW, with Father Ramon Aragon as Celebrant. Anthony Aragon, Jim Baylor, Adrian Breen, Andre Moreno, Mario Moreno and Buddy Tobyas will serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:00 noon. Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE, in charge of arrangements.
