Brooks Lee King,"Gper", 89, April 12, 1911 to May 22, 2000, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, went to be with our Lord after a brief illness. He was born in Sansaba, TX, the youngest of eight boys. Brooks retired from Sandia National Corporation 28 years ago. Brooks is survived by his loving wife, Dorothy of 64 years; daughter, Brooksene Thompson and husband, Frank; son, Edward Leon King and wife, Patricia; five grandchildren, Michelle Thompson-Loyd, Trina Thompson Collums, Joe King, Stacey King Lopez, Brooks"Lenny" King; and great-grandchildren, Whitney, Chad and Chelsea Collums, Jason and Wellsley Loyd, Danielle and Ashley Lopez, Alex, Eric and Bennett King and Victoria Monks-King. Brooks was a longtime member of The Trinity United Methodist Church. It was at Trinity where Brooks learned the power of prayer and the joy of helping others. Brooks was known for his sense of humor and as a great story teller, family, neighbors and friends will pass on his memories and stories. Memorial services will be held, Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Trinity United Methodist Church, 3715 Silver Ave. NE 87108, with Pastor Jim Massey & Rev. Gerald Farley officiating. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation in the name Brooks Lee King, to the American Cancer Society, 5800 Lomas NE 87110 or the American Diabetes Association, 525 San Pedro NE #101, 87108, or Kaseman Hospice, 8400 Consitution Pl. NE (please specify kitchen, restocking or garden area). Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menual Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Friday, from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
