Obituary for Sells

Bettie Duncan Sells, born May 6, 1916, passed away on May 3, 2000. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bryant Sells; and a son, James C. Ilfeld. Bettie is survived by a daughter, Suzanne Burge and husband, Elwood of Farmington; a son, Arthur Ilfeld III and wife, Carla of Albuquerque; and a brother, Duncan S. Duncan of Colorado Springs. Also surviving are numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren of New Mexico and Orange County, CA. Bettie was the daughter of James S. Duncan, a pioneer of this state and a prominent figure in Las Vegas, NM. She moved to Albuquerque in the mid 1930's and was very active in Junior League and other civic organizations. She was a resident of Orange County, California from 1957 to 1998. Bettie enjoyed her family and friends, she loved gardening, taking walks, and socializing with friends. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Inurnment will take place at Pacific View Memorial Park in Orange County, California. Services are entrusted to Alameda Mortuary, 9420 4th St., Norbert R. Baldonado Jr. F.S.I.
