Frank Baker Riordan passed away on Wednesday, May 3, 2000 at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marti; and by his brother, Rodney and sister, Maude. He is survived by his children, Mary Riordan, Julie Rogers, Tim Riordan, Andy Riordan, and Kitty Riordan; as well as six grandchildren. He was born in Solomon, Kansas on October 27, 1910 and moved to Albuquerque with his family in 1922. He attended St. Mary's School, Albuquerque High School, and the University of New Mexico, where he was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in World War II in the Army Air Corps as a reconnaissance photographer. In 1928, he started working at Riedling Music Company, which he eventually became owner of, in 1955, and made it one of Albuquerque's most successful music stores. He served on the boards of the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, and the Goodwill. He was also an active member of Kiwanis and the Executive Association of Greater Albuquerque. He was a loyal supporter of Lobo Sports, most especially Lobo basketball, which he loved to watch. He was a much loved father and grandfather, and will be greatly missed. The family wishes to thank Sandia Hospice for their loving care and support near the end. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial donations be made to the New Mexico Symphony Orchestra, 3301 Menaul Blvd. NE, Suite #4, Albuquerque, NM 87107. A Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 7, at Sandia Funeral Care, 7601 Wyoming NE. A Memorial service will be held on Monday, May 8, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Fatima Catholic Church, 4020 Lomas Blvd. NE.
