Obituary for Potts

Clair George Potts, 67, an Albuquerque resident since 1963, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 30, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Gloria; daughter and son-in-law, Robyn and Randy Kelley of Ft. Worth, TX; daughter and son-in-law, Leslie and Gary Purser of Rowville, Victoria, Australia; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Kathy Potts of Mesa, AZ; grandchildren, Ryan and Jeremy Kelley, Brittany and Taylor Purser, Timothy, Kara and Jacob Potts, and Becky and Ben Edwards. He is also survived by brothers, Dean and his wife, Martha; Meredith and his wife, Betty; Clyde and his wife, Vivian; and Wayne and his wife, Janet; a sister, Wadna Dillon; and many nieces, nephews, and friends who will miss him greatly. Mr. Potts served his country well for 20 years with the United States Air Force, and 26 years as a civilian employee of Kirtland Air Force Base, having retired January 1, 2000. He was a USSSA and ASA umpire and supervisor at Bullhead Softball Complex. As a member of First Baptist Church, he faithfully served in many areas. Services celebrating his life will be held Thursday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE, with Rev. Dennis Lihte officiating. Interment will take place at 1:30 p.m., at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jim Barnes, Louis Besse, Dale Brannon, Dr. B.J. Davis, Bob Ewing and George Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be Jeff Brantley, Paul Hickman, Dick McGuire, Steve Nowaczek, Dale Shook, Gene Vanderlaan, Bob Wilson, and Art Wood. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 26446, 87125, Noon Day Ministry, P.O. Box 25451, 87125 or to the charity of your choice. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 3:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m.
