Obituary for Nolasco

Flora (Baba) Nolasco, age 57, beloved and devoted mother, daughter, sister and friend, was called home to be with the Lord, Thursday, April 27, 2000. Baba, as everyone knew her, was born on July 17, 1942 in Albuquerque; she was a lifelong resident of Alameda; a parishioner of Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, and a member of the American Legion, Post 69, Lady's Auxiliary. Baba was a caring, helpful and fun person, who enjoyed family get-togethers and friends. She was preceded in death by her mother, Maria Nolasco. She is survived by her two loving children, Elisa (Lisa) Nolasco and Samuel (Sammy) Nolasco, both of the family home; her father, Meliton Nolasco also of the family home; two sisters, Dorothy Santillanes and husband, Andrew of Albuquerque and Rosemary Paez and husband, Rey of Belen; four brothers, Rudy Nolasco and wife, Ramona of Albuquerque, Meliton Nolasco Jr. and wife, Rosemarie, Florence Nolasco and Armida, Bill Nolasco and wife, Diane, all of California; two very special friends who stood by her side, Jeanette Saiz and Darlene LeChuga; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other friends. She will be greatly missed by her loving family and those who loved and knew her. On behalf of the family, sincere appreciation is extended to the Hospice Caregivers, good friends, Jeanette and Darlene for all the loving care and support given during Baba's illness. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated this morning, 10:00 a.m., at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Casket bearers will be Tim Paez, Timothy Paez, Joe Paez, Jeff Johnson, Joe Sandoval and Mark Nolasco. Honorary bearers will be Greg Nolasco and George Tafoya. Funeral services are in the care of Garcia Mortuary, 717 Stover Ave. SW, 243-5222.
