Obituary for Trujillo

Ida G. Trujillo died February 14, 2000. She is survived by her brother, Faraon Gutierrez; her sister, Severita; her sons and their wives, Aquiles Jr. and Marie of Albuquerque, Charles and Olivia of Santa Teresa, Matthew and Priscilla of Albuquerque, Richard and Carol of Houston, also Kathy, widow of Samuel of Albuquerque, and Regina of Oncota, New York. Also survived by 14 grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. Ida was preceded in death by her husband, Aquiles; daughter, Beatrice; sons, Anthony, Samuel, and John Mark. Ida, fourth of twelve children, was born December 19, 1910 to Jose Antonio Gutierrez and Beatriz Fajardo. The Gutierrez family of Valverde were influential and devoted to the Methodist faith dating back to 1850. Ida continued the legacy as a Sunday School teacher and active ministry in the United Methodist Women. She also devoted eight years as a foster grandparent at UNMH Children's psychiatric unit. She was active in the Democratic party as a precinct chair person. She assisted her husband in their bookkeeping and income tax business. Service will be held February 17th, El Buen Samaritan Methodist Church, Seventh St and Granite, 10:30 a.m. Interment of cremains at Sunset Memorial Park. Contributions may be made to Retirement Fund for Methodist Pastors.
