Katherine Turney, age 83, a resident of New Mexico since 1979, died February 9, 2000. She is preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Wade C. Turney, September 30, 1992. She is survived by her daughter, Sandra Lynn Turney of Bosque Farms; sister-in-law, Valda Turney of Addison, PA; brother-in-law, Roy W. Turney and wife, Patricia of Beaver Falls, PA; Jack R. Turney of Oakland, MD. She belonged to Goddard Wives Club of Goddard Space Flight Center, MD, Newcomers Club, Four Hills Welcome Wagon and Spanish Club and Book Club. She was the best mother I could have asked for. She loved to cook and her favorite thing was fruit. She loved the theater, Opera and learning about new cultures. A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, February 17, 2000 at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, with Pastor Larry Pierson officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Presbyterian Hospice, 8300 Constitution NE, Albuquerque, NM 87110. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, in charge of arrangements.
