Obituary for Brown

Arnold Wood Brown, Lt. Col. (Ret.), USAF, 78, resident of Albuquerque since 1965, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2000. He was born on Staten Island, NY, March 29, 1922. Lt. Col. Brown was a WWII pilot who flew B-17s for Bomb Group 398 in the 8th Air Force, an instructor for the Air Force ROTC at the University of New Mexico, and Director of Organizational Analysis and Research for the Albuquerque Public School System. He earned his doctorate in Education from UNM. Lt. Col. Brown spent countless volunteer hours with the Service Corps of Retired Executives. He was many things: a painter, a business consultant, a metal worker, a jewelry maker, a husband, and a father. Lt. Col. Brown will be missed. According to his wishes, there will be no services. Private interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Survivors are wife, Anne Johnson Brown; son, Arnold Havron Brown, and daughter-in-law, Pat McCraw. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. box 90790, Albuquerque, NM 87199.
