Lee Zito Daffer, 88, died Saturday, April 22, 2000 after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She is survived by her loving and devoted husband of 61 years, Peter G. Daffer; four children, Peter Z. A native of Albuquerque, Lee was a graduate of St. Mary's High School. She was a devout Catholic whose life centered on her husband, her children, her grandchildren and her Church. A shy and reserved lady, she was blessed with a wonderful sense of humor and an engaging way with children. Lee's home was always filled with love, hospitality and the tempting aroma of a delicious meal spiced with Italian wit and lots of conversation. She was a valued partner to her husband in their retail liquor business. She will, indeed, be deeply missed. The family is immensely grateful to the dedicated team of caregivers whose valuable skills and loving attention allowed Lee to remain at home. Special thanks go to dear friend, Claire Cole; caregivers Sonia Manning and Tommy Carrion, Dr. David Ewing and Delores Pederson. Rosary will be recited Monday at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, 619 Copper NW.
