Obituary for Hughes

Carmen R. Hughes, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Wednesday, April 19, 2000. She is survived by her sons, Jim Hughes and wife, Lynelle of Albuquerque, and Robert Hughes of Arlington, TX; granddaughter, Tammy Rice of Henderson, NV; and sister, Rita Cardell and husband, Chet of Albuquerque. Along with enjoying the care and rewards of her family, Carmen was a valuable staff member with the Medicare Division of Equitable Life Assurance for twenty years. After her retirement, she unselfishly spent many years as a dedicated Senior Volunteer and contributed significant service to the community and Seniors helping Seniors. Services will be held Saturday, 2:00 p.m., at Chester T. French Memorial Mausoleum Chapel, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE, with Rev. Joe McSorley officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Jim Hughes, Robert Hughes, Michael Cardell, Clyde Howard, Joe Gallagher and Jim Paulantis.
