Obituary for Hottenroth

James H. Hottenroth, 88, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, died Wednesday, February 9, 2000 after a long illness. He is survived by his loving wife, Helen Hottenroth; three daughters, Theresa Hottenroth-Hetsko and husband, Cyril, MD, Madison, WI, Catherine Kummet and husband, Kenneth, Woodbury, MI, and COMDR. Marian Moe and husband, Andrew, El Centro, CA; one son, James J. Hottenroth and wife, Liese, Steamboat, CO; 11 grandchildren, Michael, Luke, Nancy, Andy, Jr. Kristin, Tess, John, Kim, Sarah, Angela, Jennifer; and several nieces and nephews. He was a member of Queen of Heaven Parish, on the committee of New Mexico Alter Society, Catholic United for the Faith, Legion of Mary, Rite of Life, Knights of Columbus, and the American Society of Civil Engineers. Mr. Hottenroth entered West Point in 1938, graduating first in his class in 1942. He served his country in the US Army, serving actively in WWII, Korea, and Vietnam, he retired in 1969 with the rank of Col. He was remarkable for his love of God, love of his family, and love of his country. He served all with honor, dignity and courage. Visitation will be held at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, Friday at 1:00 p.m., the family will receive friends between 3:30 p.m. until 4:30 p.m. Rosary will be recited Friday, 7:00 p.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5310 Claremont Ave. NE. Mass will be celebrated Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church. Interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Michael, Luke, Nancy, Andy, Jr. Kristin, Tess, John, Kim, Sarah, Angela and Jennifer. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Handmaids of The Precious Blook, P.O. Box 90, Jemez Springs, NM 87025. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, in charge of arrangements.
