Obituary for Espinoza

Lalo"Vidal" Espinoza, 96, a resident of Albuquerque since 1953, died Tuesday, March 21, 2000. He was born April 28, 1903 in Cerrillos, NM to Jose Dolores and Luz Espinoza. Mr. Espinoza is survived by his daughters, Mary Healy and husband, Elbert and Eliza"Alice" Armenta, both of Albuquerque; sons, Art Espinoza and wife, Ramona of Los Angeles, CA, Joseph Espinoza and wife, Frances of Santa Fe and J. Rick Espinoza and wife, Dorinda of Albuquerque; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and brother, Efre Espinoza and wife, Vicky of Albuquerque. He was preceded in death by his wife, Eufelia Espinoza in 1989. Mr. Espinoza was a life member of the Catholic church. He retired as a coal miner in Madrid, NM in 1953. Mr. Espinoza was also a member of the United Mine Workers of America, where he served as a financial secretary for 20 years. He also retired from St. Mary's School in Albuquerque in 1973. Rosary will be recited Wednesday, 7:00 p.m., at French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel, 1111 University Blvd. NE. Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave. NW, with Father Richard McGowan, S.J., Celebrant. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Pallbearers will be Joseph Espinoza, Joe John Montoya, Richard C. Espinoza, Tony Espinoza, Larry Armenta and Anthony Robinson. Honorary pallbearers will be Daniel Armenta and Eric Espinoza. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE, Wednesday, 6:00 p.m. until Rosary.
