Obituary for Crowder

Kenneth H. Crowder, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1954, went to be with his Lord, at his home surrounded by his family, Sunday, March 19, 2000. He was born in French Lick, IN on March 31, 1924. He is survived by his wife of almost 55 years, Ada Rose Crowder of Albuquerque; sons, Norman H. Crowder and wife, Kathy of Spring Hill, KS, Max E. Crowder of Denver, CO, and Ron Crowder of Albuquerque; grandson, Jason Crowder; granddaughters, Jeanette and Rachel Crowder; and sister, Shirley Rody and husband, Dale of Kokomo, IN. Mr. Crowder served in the US Army as a medic during WWII. He was stationed in the European theatre. He retired from Kirtland Air Force Base where he was in the civil service for 33 years. Mr. Crowder was a member of the Sandia Church of the Nazarene. He was also a charter member of the Los Altos Church of the Nazarene. In addition to helping start the Los Altos Church, Mr. Crowder also helped found the Valencia Valley Church of the Nazarene in Los Lunas and branched off with half of its members to begin the Belen Church of the Nazarene. His other pursuits included singing the bass part in the Calvary Echoes Quartet for two and a half years and he was an active contributor to the Albuquerque Rescue Mission. He will be remembered as a loving, caring, Christian man whose life was an example to all who knew him. Services will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2000, 10:30 a.m., at Sandia Church of the Nazarene, 2801 Louisiana Blvd. NE, with Pastor Mark J. Bane officiating. Interment will take place at 1:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
