Obituary for Smith

Forrest E. Smith, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1940, died Monday, December 25, 2000. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mildred Smith of Albuquerque; daughter, Ann Bruner and husband, Kent of Estancia, NM; sons, Steven Smith and David Smith and wife, Christina, all of Albuquerque; and sister, Twila Hanner of San Diego, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Josephine Smith; brother, Horace Gillette; sister, Nadine Sims and her husband, Woodrow and Brother-in-Law, Amos Hanner. Mr. Smith served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII in the South Pacific. After his military service, he met his wife, Mildred Hamm in Dallas, TX and they were married in 1954. He worked as a truck driver for Coca Cola and Don Ward Trucking until his retirement. The last two years, he was a season ticket holder and avid fan of the Scorpions. Last year he was privileged to attend the All Star Games in Amarillo, where he grew up. While there, he was able to see the home he grew up in and the school he attended. Mr. Smith was a member of Temple Baptist Church. Cremation has taken place and no services are planned. Arrangements by French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE.
