Obituary for Summers

Robert S. Summers, 76, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, died Saturday, May 13, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette Summers of Albuquerque; sons, Gary Summers of Albuquerque, Stephen Summers of Westminister, CO and Byron Summers and wife, Susan of Divide, CO; daughter, Charlotte Summers of Seattle, WA; grandsons, Christopher Summers, Ian Summers, and Sean Summers all of Divide, CO; granddaughter, Alexa Summers of Placitas, NM; grandson, Jason Summers of TN; great-grandson, Taobear Romero of Placitas; sisters, Mary Walker and Laverne Summers of IL, and Margaret Brand of Florissant, MO. Robert was a NM State Registered Engineer and was a member of Phi Sigma Kappa. He served in the 8th Air Force after high school and saw action in WWII. He earned degrees in Engineering from the University of Kentucky and University of Florida. He was employed at Sandia National Laboratories for 42 years. Services will be Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., at Heights Christian Church, 6935 Comanche NE, with Pastor Lynn Taylor officiating. Interment will follow at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Bob strove to live the Christian life from his boyhood. He will be dearly missed by many. Memorial contributions may be made to Heights Christian Church, 6935 Comanche NE, 87110.
