Obituary for Gideon

Ira Monroe Gideon, 78, a resident of Albuquerque died, Monday, May 8, 2000. He is survived by his wife, Nelda F. Gideon of Albuquerque; daughters, Arlena Crandell and husband, Fred of Benton, KS and Cherie Berg and husband, Brian of Cascade, MT; son, Alan Gideon and wife, Julie of Ashburn, VA; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brothers, Bill J. Gideon of Webb City, MO, Elmer Gideon of Cleveland, OH and James Gideon of Anderson, MO. Mr. Gideon lived in Great Bend, Kansas following discharge from the US Navy in December 1945. He worked as mechanic in Great Bend, KS, Roswell, NM, and Albuquerque. He married Nelda Farnsworth in 1942. Services will be held Friday, 10:00 a.m., at St. Paul's United Methodist Church with Rev. Gerald White officiating. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 12:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to Alzheimers Association, 1330 San Pedro NE, Suite 205, 87110, Sandia Hospice, 4775 Indian School Rd. NE, Suite 310, 87110. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Thursday, from 6:00 p.m to 8:00 p.m.
