Obituary for Sanchez

Eulogio S. Sanchez, 87, a resident of Jarales, passed away on Friday, May 5, 2000. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Eulogio proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII, receiving a Purple Heart for his bravery and courage. Eulogio retired from the Bureau of Reclamation. He was also a well-known area businessman, owning and operating Larry's Fruit Stand for over 32 years. He was preceded in death by his grandson, Brian Sanchez. Eulogio is survived by his loving wife, Estella of 63 years of the family home in Jarales; his five children, Joe Sanchez of Jarales, Lourdes Ponce and her husband, Richard of Alhambra, CA, Alfonso Sanchez of Jarales, Macario Sanchez of Belen, Lorenzo Sanchez of Jarales; 15 loving grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren; his sister, Mercedes Vergada. Eulogio is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews. A Rosary will be held on Monday, 7:00 p.m., at Romero Funeral Home. Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, 10:00 a.m., at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. Interment times are pending. Contact Romero Funeral Home for times, 864-8501.
