Mrs. Evelyn Montez Hawkins Christopher, 84, a former resident of Albuquerque, died Saturday, April 1, 2000. She resided since 1984 in the Atlanta area. Mrs. Christopher was a native of Alabama and a graduate of the University of Alabama. During World War II, she served in the communications branch of the U.S. Navy. She lived in Atlanta during the 1950's. She resided in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Tuscaloosa, Alabama before her return to Atlanta in 1984. She is survived by her son, Thomas, daughter-in-law, Elaine; grandchildren, Charles Lawrence, 4, and Catherine Elaine, 2; and her brother, Herston, all of Atlanta. Memorial Services will be held at St. Anne's Episcopal Church in Atlanta on Wednesday, April 5, at 2:00 p.m. Contributions in lieu of flowers please, may be made to St. Anne's Episcopal Church of Atlanta or to the Evelyn Christopher Fund at the University of Alabama Law School.
