Obituary for Brasher

Born March 4, 1920 in Santa Rosa, Clarence John (C.J.) Brasher was the son of Clarence J. Brasher and Frances M. Brasher. After attending Catholic University in Washington, DC, Mr. Brasher interrupted his education to serve in the U.S. Navy during World War II. Following the war, Mr. Brasher continued his education at the St. Joseph's College, where he earned a Bachelors degree in economics. On September 4, 1943, Mr. Brasher married his wife, Frieda M. Brasher. They were married 56 years. He is survived by his wife; seven sons; two daughters; four brothers; one sister; and numerous grand and great-grandchildren. Mr. Brasher served on the board and was president of the Suicide Crisis and Prevention Center and was a lector and Eucharistic Minister of Queen of Heaven Parish. Mr. Brasher will lie in state Friday at Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors. A Prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m., Friday, at Queen of Heaven Church, 5310 Claremont NE. Fr. C. John Brasher will celebrate the Mass of the Resurrection at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, at Queen of Heaven Church. Interment will follow in Mount Calvary Cemetery. Fitzgerald and Son Funeral Directors, 3113 Carlisle NE, are in charge of arrangements. The family has requested that, in lieu of flowers, charitable donations be given to St. Joseph's Church, P.O. Box 516, Springer, NM 87747.
