Gale E. LaRue, 81, passed away March 25, 2000. He devoted more than 50 continuous years of service with the American Legion. He was a member of Post #13, Chairman of State Children and Youth Counsel, Post #13, Chairman State and Youth, serving 12 years on their Executive Board. He served on the 40 and 8 Voighter. He was a life member of D.A.V., Chapter #3. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Elsie Martin LaRue; son, Luther"Ike" LaRue; daughter, Lenora LaRue Nichols; three grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Violet Eckman; numerous family and friends who loved and will miss him. A Memorial service will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, March 31, 2000 with Military Honors. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th NW, 343-8008.
