Obituary for Spicher

Charles O. Spicher, 88, a resident of Albuquerque since 1949, died Wednesday, February 2, 2000. He is survived by his son, Russell Spicher and wife, Mary of Albuquerque; and daughter, Brenda Risenhoover and husband, Roger of Wynnewood, OK. He was the grandfather of Amy Risenhoover of Arlington, TX, Carrie Cleaver and husband, Daniel of Tulsa, OK, Kimberly Spicher of Little Rock, AR and Ian Spicher of Albuquerque; and brother, Zellers Spicher and wife, Martha of Ligonier, PA. Mr. Spicher was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Susie D. Spicher on August 19, 1998. Mr. Spicher was born on November 5, 1911 in Ligonier, PA. He went on to serve in the U.S. Air Force during WWII and until his retirement in 1956. He participated in the Berlin Airlift. Following his career in the Air Force, Mr. Spicher was with the civil service until retiring in 1970. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church. He was also a member of the A.F. & A.M. Hiram Lodge #13, the Ballut Abyad Shrine Temple, and the Scottish Rite of Santa Fe. Services were held Friday, 11:00 a.m., at French Mortuary, Wyoming Blvd. Chapel, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, with Rev. Myron White officiating. Interment followed at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery. The family requests memorial contributions be made to The Storehouse, 106 Broadway SW 87102.
