Obituary for Montoya

Donald D. Montoya, age 51, passed away on Friday, February 4, 2000, after a battle with heart disease. Donald's passions included fishing, camping, racquetball, working as an advocate for his clients, and most of all, taking care of others. His physical presence will be deeply missed in our community. He was preceded in death by his brother, Bennie L. (Butch) Montoya Jr. He is survived by his wife, Betty V. Montoya; his two daughters, Nina Montoya and Elicia Montoya; and son-in-law, Kurt Gilbert. He is also survived by his parents, Bennie and Soraida Montoya; brothers and sisters, Diana Jaramillo, Enrique Montoya and wife, Claudette, Therese Prada and husband, Mel, Monica Montoya and Marcus Montoya; and numerous nieces, nephew, other family members and friends. Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 5, 5:00 p.m., at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel, where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Visitation will continue on Sunday, February 6, 5:00 p.m., at Berardinelli Family Funeral Chapel, where a Rosary will be recited at 6:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, February 7, 11:00 a.m., at St. Francis Cathedral. A reception will follow the service at St. Anne Parish Hall. Interment will be private for family. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations be made to the American Heart Association, PO Box 90790, Albuquerque, NM 87199.
