Obituary for Huber

Lowell H."Mac" Huber, 67, passed away peacefully, Saturday evening, January 29, 2000. He was in the arms of his wife, Sandra, and with his children. Mac was born in Irvington, NE to Frank G. and Ella M. Huber. He is survived by his sisters, Mrs. Robert (Jeannette) Johansen, Mrs. John (Corrine) Thompson, both of Omaha, NE, Mrs. Lou (Norma) Kimbrel, Salt Lake City, UT; and brother, Frank L. Huber, also of Omaha. He also leaves behind his children and their families who loved him dearly, Rev. Scott R. Huber of McDonough, GA with wife, Megann and children, Katie, Alec and Andy; J. Weston Huber of Corrales, NM with wife, JoAnn and children, Hayley and Mary Hannah; Patricia L. Sotomayor of Darien, CT and children, Emily and Isabel; and Peter L. Huber, also of Darien. Mac grew up in Omaha, where he attended Benson High School. Mac married Sandra Sue Robinson of Omaha on September 4, 1954. In 1956 he graduated from the University of Nebraska - Omaha with honors and was a member of Sigma Phi Epsilon fraternity. After graduation he joined General Electric, but was then called to duty in 1957. While in the army Mac served in the 14th Artillery Division in Nuremberg, Germany as a 2nd Lieutenant. Mac returned to GE and started his career in finance as an auditor in Schenectady, NY. He later returned to Omaha with Union Pacific and then relocated to Connecticut. During his last ten years in Connecticut, Mac owned a limousine business and truly enjoyed the time he spent with his customers as he did with everyone he met. Mac retired to Rio Rancho, NM in June of 1999, where he attended Calvary Chapel of Albuquerque. Memorial services will be held in Omaha, NE on February 12, 11:00 a.m., at Countryside Community Church. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the American Cancer Society.
