Obituary for Higgins

Joe F. Higgins, a resident of Albuquerque since 1945, died Tuesday, February 1, 2000. Joe is survived by one daughter, Heidi; three brothers, Bernie, John W., and Larry; two granddaughters, Felicia and Jesslyn, all of Albuquerque. Joe was a graduate of Valley High School and the University of New Mexico, and served in the 44th Army Band of the New Mexico National Guard. Joe was a Probation Officer of the Metro Court for 17 years and was appointed as director of the Pre-Prosecution Program of the District Attorney's Office. His intellect, loyalty and spirit will remain with us always. Funeral services will be held Friday, February 4, 2000 at 2:00 p.m. in the Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave. SE. Interment will follow in Sandia Memory Gardens with Larry Higgins, John W. Higgins, Bernie Higgins, John F. Higgins, Bill Higgins, Tom Mescall, Mike Mason and Al Anzures serving as pallbearers.
