Alvina Quam, 55, a lifelong resident of New Mexico, and a resident of Albuquerque for 32 years, died Thursday, October 5, 2000. She is survived by her daughters, Ardis Houck and husband, Kevin and Denise Quam, all of Albuquerque; granddaughter, Aubrianna Devon Sanchez of Albuquerque; grandson, Zacary Lee Houck; parents, Mr. and Mrs. Duane and Alice Quam; aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Bobbie and Berniece Leekya; brothers, Wayne Quam and Elgin Quam, sisters, Shirley Quam, Lorraine Waatsa and husband, Luwayne, Ruberta Quam, Diane Lonjose and husband, Rodney and Florinda Quam, all of Zuni; and other immediate family members. Alvina was known worldwide for her Zuni jewelry craftsmanship. Traditional Zuni services will take place. French Mortuary, 1111 University Blvd. NE.
